The first female converts, the establishment of the relief society, women and blessings. Basically, anything to do with women.

I would like to know more about members who joined the church during the industrial revolution in England also the using the PEF and how many deserted the church on the way over. I tried writting my senior thesis on this topic last summer at Weber State University but had a hard timd finding it. There has got to be information about it somewhere.

Mark Hoffman was a master forger, and forged many early Mormon documents (as well as other historical documents.) For example, he got the LDS and RLDS churches into a bidding war over a patriarchal blessing supposedly given by Joseph Smith to his son Joseph III telling III that he would be the next leader of the church. He made a ton of money on these forgeries, but some were beginning to suspect him of forgery. So he created some pipe bombs and killed a few people. Then he was delivering a bomb to his next target, but it blew up in his car, injuring him badly.

He was later sentenced to life in prison with no possibility of parole (this was in the 1980s). John Krakauer wanted to interview him, but Hoffman wouldn’t talk. Krakauer ended up talking to the Lafferty boys, who believed they were new prophets in American Fork, Utah and killed a woman because she didn’t like their polygamy. (The Laffertys were former members of both the LDS High Council, and the AF City Council, and were pretty upstanding LDS men up to that point.) So Krakauer ended up writing “Under the Banner of Heaven.” (I guess I should have listed that topic too!)
