He was seen as a threat; for reasons of a secular nature.

As a witness in his death of the reason for his life in testimony of Jesus Christ and the Restoration.

When ever I hear criticism (marrying other mens wives) about him (even in myself) I just say

“Yes, perhaps, and HF relieved him of his prophet duties shortly after”

What is important is the fruits of the church-which are amazing.

I had a dear friend who recently disclosed to me that she had never told anyone, but after reading about all the details of polygamy and the like she thinks that Joseph might be a fallen prophet that was taken because of it.

She was silent for a few minutes as if I would be shocked and would reject her. I just said, “and?” That’s a valid opinion. None of us will ever know, but it could have happened.

Re. #5, Kristine, your friend is in pretty good company. David Whitmer said something similar (it was one reason out of a few that he thought Joseph had fallen).
